Latina-Owned Self-Care Products That Won’t Break Your Bank

One thing about Latinas is that we’re always loyal to our favorite products. Once we find something we love, it’s hard to replace it. But if you are looking for something new, the Modern Muze team has you covered. We asked our team about their favorite Latina-owned self-care products that won’t break your bank. This way, not only are you receiving quality products, but you’re also giving back to your community and the owner’s dreams.

I don’t know about you, but things shifted after the pandemic. I started to shop with more intention. My intention? Always try to give back to my Latin community when possible. And what better way to support and write about Latina-owned businesses?

From our favorite bold red lipstick to our favorite body lotion, here are five Latina-owned self-care products that should be on your radar.

Vive Cosmetics

I’ll always vouch for Vive Cosmetics, which was founded by Mexican-Puerto Rican-American entrepreneur Joanna Rosario and Mexican-American entrepreneur Leslie Valdivia. Their red lipstick is my go-to for the last four years or so. My favorite is called “Dímelo.” It’s a creamy bullet stick, and it’s $18 USD. But there are more options. Vive also has lip oils, lip scrubs, and liquid lipsticks.

Vavica Body Care

Vavica was founded by sisters Valentina, Victoria, and Camila Marmol, who have Argentinean and Guatemalan roots. Their products include oil spray, body wash, and body lotion. “With our extensive backgrounds in the skincare industry and unique perspectives, we’re here to bring you clean products that celebrate every body and the beautiful array of skin tones, cultures, identities, and traditions,” their website reads.

Looking for sustainable, eco-friendly Latina-owned soaps? Founded by Mexican-American entrepreneur  Marcela Arrieta, Majestic Bliss Soaps has a variety of types to offer. “When the idea of Majestic Bliss Soaps blossomed, I knew it would be a tribute to the sacred wisdom of my foremothers,” she wrote on her website. “My vision was clear: to create a unique line of artisan soaps and personal care products, each a blend of nature’s generosity and a touch of magic.”

Santu Beauty

Santu Beauty is a skincare line founded by Mexican-American entrepreneur Alicia Nogales and her business partner Angelique Van Wyk, who grew up in South Africa. “With a commitment to sustainability, biodegradable formulas, and cruelty-free practices, Santu is redefining self-care with products that honor tradition, community, and conscious beauty,” their press statement reads.

My personal favorite is their Jazmín Tropical Body Lotion, which transports you to an island upon using it. The scent oozes pineapple and mango, which I adore in the summer. It’s $42 USD.
