Everyone’s obsessed with Curry Barker’s horror film Obsession right now. If you haven’t heard about it, you’re missing out on Mexican-Australian actress Inde Navarrette’s breakout role. Let’s just say she’s one of our new Latina scream queens. And she’s here to stay. 

Though this is her breakout role as Nikki, Navarrette has been in the acting realm since 2018. Since then, she’s participated in projects like Denton’s Death Date as Veronica, 13 Reasons Why as Estela de la Cruz, and Superman & Lois as Sarah Cushing. But it wasn’t until this year that the majority of people discovered how good she is. When we say her role is good—I’m talking about Oscar-worthy good. Her facial expressions and unsettledness gave us chills throughout the horror film, which has us obsessing over who she is.

She is Latina

Born Danielle Fabiola Navarrette, Navarrette is Latina. Her mother is Australian, and her father is Mexican. She was born in Tucson, Arizona. Turns out her interest in horror films actually comes from her Mexican side. “The Mexican side of my family: huge with horror. Huge. Chucky dolls in the bathroom,” she told PEOPLE about her horror influences growing up.

The 25-year-old was born on March 3, 2001.

She lives in Tulare County. 

 

She loves fashion

Navarrette is a bag girlie. “I have collected over 100 purses, but I have right now 30 in my collection that I rotate out of. Fashion is so important to me. Prints, fabrics, textures, and colours. It can be so uniquely you,” she told Wonderland Magazine. “Purses are my FAVOURITE part of putting an outfit together. Big and bold, or soft and muted or loud and shiny. It’s just so much fun to play with, and don’t even get me started on how fun it is to organise it with OTHER bags inside your purse. Oh. My. God. I love it so much.”

According to IMDb, Navarrette is going to star in the upcoming drama and thriller film Invertigo and the drama film Kids of The Black Hole.
