How To Celebrate Galentine’s Day This Week
Sure, Valentine’s Day is on Saturday, but do you know what else we’re celebrating this week? Galentine’s Day! On February 13, we celebrate our girls and, honestly, all of our loved ones that aren’t necessarily our romantic partners.
Let’s be clear: we are long done with only celebrating Valentine’s Day if you’re in a relationship. That version of Valentine’s Day is over. What’s funny is that in the Latino community, the commercial holiday is also known as “El Día de San Valentín,” which is celebrated as “El Día del Amor y la Amistad,” or The Day of Love and Friendship. If that rings a bell, it’s because—as Latinos—we’re always celebrating everything at large—including all of our friends and family whenever we can.
