Latinas Dazzle at the Cannes Film Festival With These Iconic Looks

The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most important global events for the film industry.

From May 14 to the 25, celebrities gathered in the south of France to showcase their films—and fashion. Of course, I wouldn’t have missed the opportunity to celebrate our Latina queens on the red carpet. Let’s break down my favorite looks from the event.

Anya Taylor-Joy gave Golden Era Siren at Cannes

Anya Taylor Joy did not come to play at Cannes. Whether you’re interested in “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” or not, she decided you’re going to pay attention to her. From the second she stepped off the plane with the attitude of a screen siren from Hollywood’s Golden Era to her new film’s premiere, she did not disappoint. As one of the few Latinas in attendance this year, all eyes were on this Argentine queen.

For her arrival Look on May 13, stylist Ryan Hastings dressed her in a beautiful fiery off-the-shoulder number from Atlein Spring 24. He paired the look with an iconic Jacquemus straw hat and sky-high bronze Jimmy Choos. When I saw her walking out and signing autographs, my heart stopped. She came to give us a show and I was seated.

Once the dust had settled on her first look, she gave us a “Casual, but I’M IN CANNES” look. Pairing a Damson Madder bow patterned blouse and dark-washed denim skirt, she gave casual a whole new name. The silver Kitten heels were a great touch, especially after strutting down the airport runway. Our muze needs to be comfortable at least for a few hours before the real festivities. Might I add that the cat eye sunglasses on both these looks are perfect for her face shape. But then again, everything looks great on this woman.

Other notable mentions are her Jacquemus white sheer floor-length gown giving ethereal goddess. And of course, her premiere look with Dior, which is no surprise being an ambassador for the French couturier.

Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña’s fashion choices get our standing ovation

Something that wasn’t on our bingo cards this festival season was Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña together on the red carpet. They received a nine-minute standing ovation, the longest this year, for their film “Emilia Perez.”

Gomez stunned in a two-toned custom Saint Laurent dress with spectacular Bulgari jewels. Meanwhile, Saldaña appeared at the premiere wearing archival Yves Saint Laurent and Boucheron accessories.

Eva Longoria sparkled at the film festival

Finally, our own Eva Longoria brought the sparkle and dazzle to Cannes wearing spring 2024 Ellie Sabb Couture. The dress hugged her curves and brought out her inner muze. This is a lesson on how to look like an effortless bombshell.

Our muzas came to conquer the Cannes red carpet and did not disappoint.

Until next time, Your Fairy Godmother,
