Emilia Pérez highlights the critical need for representation across the entertainment industry
Saldaña, Gomez, Gascón, and Adriana Paz took the screen to the next level with Emilia Pérez. The musical film follows the lives of these four remarkable women in Mexico as they navigate insurmountable hurdles while pursuing their happiness.
The formidable cartel boss, Emilia (Gascón), recruits Rita (Saldaña), a disillusioned lawyer trapped in a dead-end job. She asks her to assist in faking her own death, enabling Emilia to embrace her true identity finally. Written and directed by Jacques Audiard, this double Cannes-winning film is now on Netflix.
