What to expect from the new documentary

The new documentary was first released on Sundance Film Festival’s website earlier this year. But due to viewers posting footage on social media, the film was taken down. However, it seems to be worth the wait since the new documentary promises never-before-seen footage of Quintanilla “including home videos that reveal Selena in a new light as a sister, daughter, and wife,” per Netflix.

“As a filmmaker, I wanted to honor her extraordinary rise and enduring legacy, while also giving a window into her life behind the stage,” the documentary’s director, Isabel Castro, told Netflix. “Through personal archive and intimate interviews with her family, the film reveals new dimensions of her journey that have never been seen before. I am deeply grateful to her family for their trust and support throughout this journey, and I can’t wait for a global audience to experience the magic, heart and community that Selena gave to all of us.”

Where to watch the new documentary
