A Guide to Tap Into the Year of the Horse

The Year of the Fire Horse is finally here. On February 17, the New Lunar Year rang in the celebration, giving us a new type of fierce energy to embrace. Curious about what we’ll be experiencing this year?

Have you noticed people posting horse images this week? Or have you felt a change in energy? That’s because we’re officially in a New Lunar Year based on the Chinese calendar. For those who don’t know, the Year of the Fire Horse is often described as the year of “strength, endurance, loyalty, freedom and success.” It’s especially celebrated by those born in 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, and of course, 2026. With that being said, many people are welcoming the year by starting fresh, moving with confidence, embracing independence, and setting intentions to be successful for the months ahead.

Want to make the most of the Year of the Fire Horse? Here are three ways to claim the right aura.

Move with confidence and strength

A way to move with confidence and strength is by recognizing what is calling you—and welcoming it. Trust your intuition and finally act upon it. You are more powerful than you know—and there is a reason why certain thoughts keep appearing in your mind. Is it finally time to change your mundane lifestyle? Try something new? It’s time to do it.

Embrace freedom

Think about what freedom means to you. Is it moving out and living under your own rules? Is it finding a new apartment? Is it starting a new habit that lets you exercise a more independent side of you? This is the year to realize what freedom means to you and act on it!

Plan ahead

For anything you decide to do this year, plan with confidence and liberation. This is your year. And in order to succeed in anything you want to do, you have to plan ahead and make it happen for yourself. It’s not the time to wing anything; it’s time to put your plans into motion and attract what is meant for you.

Bottom line is: Put your thoughts into action!

How To Celebrate Galentine’s Day This Week

Sure, Valentine’s Day is on Saturday, but do you know what else we’re celebrating this week? Galentine’s Day! On February 13, we celebrate our girls and, honestly, all of our loved ones that aren’t necessarily our romantic partners.

Let’s be clear: we are long done with only celebrating Valentine’s Day if you’re in a relationship. That version of Valentine’s Day is over. What’s funny is that in the Latino community, the commercial holiday is also known as “El Día de San Valentín,” which is celebrated as “El Día del Amor y la Amistad,” or The Day of Love and Friendship. If that rings a bell, it’s because—as Latinos—we’re always celebrating everything at large—including all of our friends and family whenever we can.

So let’s get planning, shall we? Check out these cute gift ideas and activities to do this Friday with your loved ones.

For the make-up girls

There’s something about lipsticks and face masks that always hit for Galentine’s Day presents. You can put any type of makeup in cups, bags, socks even, and voila—you have a perfect and easy gift for your make-up lovers.

@hannahgoin How cute are these?!? So excited to gift them 🤭❤️ #galentinesday #valentinesday #galentinesdaygift #giftidea #galentines @grace and stella @BUILT.BAR @NYX Professional Makeup ♬ Can I Call You Rose? - Thee Sacred Souls
For the outdoorsy girls

What about celebrating your Galentine’s Day with a good, sweaty hike to open your mind? After hours of staring at screens, a good hike will rejuvenate your life. Trust me! What makes this a special Galentine’s activity? Wear pink outfits and heart-shaped sunglasses!

If you’re not into hikes, what about a picnic? It’s time to touch grass, y’all!

For girls who like to go—anywhere

OK, so not all of us are the outdoorsy type. Luckily, there is a lot to do this weekend. From coffee popups to clubs to random crafty activities.

Live in Los Angeles? Check out the TikTok below for ideas!

Live elsewhere? You’d be surprised at all the interesting activities happening this weekend.

A Love Letter to February: The Soft Reset Edit

February is finally here. It’s our favorite month to love ourselves a little bit more, reset realistic intentions, and implement them in meaningful daily habits. It’s our favorite month to move more slowly on purpose and romanticize everything about our routines. I mean, it’s the month of love after all, isn’t it?

If you’re in the same boat, we’re here for you. There’s just something about January that feels like it’s all or nothing—but in all honesty, it’s OK to restart this month. It’s OK to let go of our resolutions if they don’t align with your purpose today. January was a trial month, if you will.

So, how do we focus on this soft reset? Here are tips on how to be softer with yourself and practice self-compassion this month.

Be more gentle with yourself

February is about rewiring your nervous system: Take things slow. Focus on being more gentle with yourself and practicing self-compassion. Here are mantras to help you out on times you feel anxious or stressed, via Healthline.

  1. What do I need right now?
  2. Let me be kind to myself in this moment.
  3. Let me give myself the compassion I need.
  4. I’m going to get through this.
  5. What do I need to be well?

And remember: breathe. Everything will be OK.

Reset your intentions

What are your daily, weekly, and monthly intentions? A good way to strip these down is to journal out what you want to achieve each period of time. Think of the following journal prompts for inspiration.

  1. What do I need to do today to feel better?
  2. What would I like more of this week?
  3. What would I like less of this week?
  4. What can I do this month to feel better?
  5. How can I make this month feel productive?

Create daily habits

People aren’t wrong when they say your daily habits make or break your life. Here are some daily habits to implement in your life to keep yourself in check—and to help move slower every day.

  1. Drink more water.
  2. Meditate at least once a day.
  3. Take more mental health breaks.
  4. Be less online. (Avoid doomscrolling!)
  5. Go outside. (Go on a hike, go on a walk outside your block, feel the sun on your skin).

How are you going to start soft February?

What Does Sexy Mean To You?

What does sexy mean to you? It feels like sexy is less about thirst traps and more about personal choice. It’s more about confidence and empowerment—think of a clean home, wearing lingerie for yourself, or even better: putting your phone on “Do Not Disturb.” What’s your sexy?

As Valentine’s Day comes closer, we are seeing a shift in what sexy could look and feel like. Is it a night in without any interruptions? Just you, your favorite meal, a clean space, and a beautifully scented candle? Or maybe a time dedicated to work on your to-do list without pressure to be late somewhere? Let’s just say this February, we’re leaning towards a self-care Valentine’s Day, and making it less about embarrassing boyfriends. It’s about not feeling the outdated pressure of a commercial holiday (and sharing it with someone else)—and instead using the day to rejuvenate yourself.

Does this sound like a good plan to you? Here are some ideas to help spark your ‘sexy’ Valentine’s Day next month. Or better yet, a month full of self-love.

A night in without social media

Picture this: your phone is on “Do Not Disturb,” and you’re not doomscrolling on social media. In fact, you’re not even near your cellphone. It’s just you, a scented candle, your favorite meal, and a dimly lit living room. Want to feel sexy? Maybe you put on lingerie for yourself, or wear your favorite cozy pajamas that just came out of the dryer.

Time to do any putting-off tasks

Let’s keep it real: we are always busy. We are always on the go. So it’s no shame to have a to-do list full of things we just put off. Need to schedule an oil change? Need to pay a doctor’s bill? We do too. So, why not schedule yourself a morning or evening to get these tedious tasks off your back? A clean inbox or nonexistent to-do list is sexy, too!

A clean atmosphere

Is having a clean living space your type of sexy? Taking time to clean your car or room is sexy. And it’s not like we should see it as a chore either—it’s a privilege to be able to have a clean atmosphere. How lucky are we?

What does sexy mean to you?

How To Host the Perfect ‘Benito Bowl’ Party

It’s almost time for the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show featuring our very own Latin star Bad Bunny! On February 8, the Puerto Rican icon will star as the A-list performer chosen to headline the most important NFL football game—and the first solo Latin artist to do it. Ready to celebrate this great achievement for every Latino out there? We know we are.

It’s not every day that one of our favorite Latin artists gets to perform at one of the most televised performances on national television. That’s why many of us fans are preparing to celebrate the “Benito Bowl” with Puerto Rican appetizers, Bad Bunny jerseys, and Benito-inspired drinks.

From delicious fried appetizers to on-theme party drinks, here are tips on how to host the perfect “Benito Bowl” party next month.

Picadera

If there’s one thing we love about Puerto Rico, it’s their cuisine. Ideas for the “Benito Bowl” party include tostones, croquetas, empanadas…. Yes, we’re full on making a picadera next month! Other options to add could be mozzarella sticks, chicken strips—think about your favorite finger foods to pick at while watching the halftime show.

Go-To Fashion Inspiration for ‘Wuthering Heights’ Lovers

Wuthering Heights is about to take over. Ahead of the highly anticipated film’s release on February 13, fans are already tapping into its aesthetic from nails to boots. What can we say? A film starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi deserves the red carpet treatment.

You’re living under a rock if you haven’t heard about Robbie and Elordi’s upcoming steamy film. This year’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights is described as: “a passionate and tumultuous love story set against the backdrop of the Yorkshire moors, exploring the intense and destructive relationship between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw.” Based on the trailer alone, it’s shaping up to be an exciting and sensual watch led by two of Hollywood’s popular actors.

Besides the star actors, the movie’s costumes are also bound to be talked about. Led by not one but two-time Oscar winning-costume designer Jacqueline Durran, the film is expected to spark fashionable trends on and off the red carpet.

Want to jump into the Wuthering Heights action? Here are ways to start the romantic gothic vibe to anticipate the film.

5 Nail Trends You Need To Try ASAP

Although we barely kicked off the year, we’re already predicting and seeing beauty trends. Today, let’s take a look at nail trends that are expected to create a buzz in 2026. If you’re all about your nails, we have five perfect nail ideas for you to try out this year.

According to nail experts, we will experience a variety of nail trends this year. While classics like French tip nails or solid glossy choices are always a hit, it’s time to branch out and express yourself with nail art. But don’t worry, some of these trends are more throwback than anything—which makes them more exciting. What can we say? We love nostalgia.

From animal print to chrome and glitter finishes, here are five nail trends that experts online are predicting!

Animal Print

Animal print is coming back strong in 2026. One of the trends we’re looking forward to seeing this year is leopard print on nails! Why stop at leopard? Why not get creative with cow print, zebra print, etc? We’re here for it!

Maximalism

This trend is for the extravagant girlies. According to Byrdie, a mani maximalism trend is brewing. What is it exactly? They describe this trend as “Charms, baubles, and jeweled stones up the ‘more-is-more’ ante, while a sheer base keeps it grounded.”

Nude

This is another trend that’s a classic. Who doesn’t like a good nude color? It goes with everything! The 2026 spin on it is adding a milky tone to it.

Light Colors

On the other side of maximalism is the “Clean Girl” aesthetic. In 2026, InStyle predicts a surge on “Ethereal Cool Tones.” They are vouching for whites, lights, and ethereal tones. Which makes sense given that nude is also a come-up. Furthermore, they tie it to Pantone’s Color of the Year, which is Cloud Dancer.

Chrome & Glitter Finishes

According to Who What Wear, a “chrome layer or glitter topper” is making a comeback in 2026. Sounds cute!

Why Paloma Sanchez’s NYX Lip Liner Collaboration Is a Win

It’s no secret that influencers are making brands a lot of money. But what happens when a brand partners up with an influencer who genuinely loves their brand? Magic.

Take Paloma Sanchez—simply known as Paloma—as a prime example. If you’ve followed or peeped into her TikTok, you know she’s a popular Mexican beauty influencer. Look further, and you know she has a particular interest in NYX products: specifically, their original Cold Brew Lip Liner that she yearned for after it changed its original formula.

Fast forward to today—and multiple posts trying to “dupe” the original lip liner’s formula later—Paloma collaborated with NYX for their new OG Brew Lip Liner.

Though it sounds like another influencer collaboration—it’s actually deeper than that. Let’s talk about why this is such a win for Latina beauty influencers and how brands can learn from this strategic move.

A win for the Latina beauty community

NYX’s OG Brew Lip Liner collaboration with Paloma is a win for the Latina beauty community. It’s a win because it opens doors for other Latina creators who want to take the next step in their beauty career and have the right audience for it.

It’s one thing to promote a brand, but once your name is attached to the brand, it takes your worth to the next level. With this success, Paloma can become the face for future brands that she aligns with. Imagine her creating her own lip liner kit with NYX?

Furthermore, this could also open doors for more beauty brands to collaborate with her in the future—showing exactly why it’s important to include Latina influencers in global campaigns.

What brands should learn from Paloma x NYX’s move

Global brands should learn that these authentic moves work. In this case, Paloma let her social media followers know that the lip liner collaboration sold out five hours after its launch (January 3). NYX replied, “you did that bestie👏 working to get it restocked asap.”

How to Keep Up with New Year’s Resolutions in 2026

Can you believe it’s 2026 already? With a new year comes new hope and possibilities—and now is the time to start manifesting them into life.

Planning for a new year can get overwhelming. But part of this feeling can be due to not organizing things thoroughly with an achievable end goal. Sometimes our New Year’s resolutions are too broad and can get lost throughout the year. That’s why we’re doing things differently this year.

This year, we are making sure we plan out realistic goals and ways to achieve them in 2026. Care to join us? Here’s how.

Make a Physical Vision Board

As cliché or outdated as they may sound, vision boards are that girl. One of the ways to get your ideas from your mind to paper is by making a physical vision board. While digital vision boards work the same, sometimes it’s helpful to have a physical component on your desk to revisit whenever you need that extra inspiration.

Tips to make a physical vision board:

  • Make a list of things you want to accomplish, places you want to visit, things you want to buy, words you want to live by, how you want to feel, etc.
  • Google or Pinterest the aforementioned ideas for a photo that represents them.
  • Print out the images. Tip: You can print these images out at your local library! You don’t need to go extra fancy if you don’t want to!
  • Use a corkboard to pin your ideas.
  • Keep the vision board in a place where you can see it daily.
Have an Accountability Partner

Whether you’re manifesting to get healthier, learn a new hobby, or balance work and life, having an accountability partner can make the difference in making these goals happen.

This allows you to speak your resolutions to existence, and have someone to give you feedback—and of course, encourage you throughout the year. But be careful: the root to make this work is by being honest with your accountability partner. There’s no point in lying to them about any progress in your goals.

Check In With Yourself Every Month

As mentioned before, New Year’s resolutions might sound overwhelming, but separating each resolution into twelve segments can help ease that feeling. Instead of thinking of goals for the whole year, why not think of it as twelve check-in points?

This way, it doesn’t have to feel like a year milestone to reach, but rather reasonable goals to keep up with each month—especially as life gets hectic throughout the year.

With all of this in mind, how are you keeping up with your resolutions this year?
